I came across a very informative infographic on www.thetruckersreport.com that shows the impact of improving semi-truck efficiency. What struck me the most was the fact that if semi-trucks improved efficiency by just 10%, we would save almost 1 billion gallons of fuel per year. That’s the equivalent of eight times the amount spilled during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, 1500 Olympic swimming pools… You get the picture. This infographic is also very timely considering that on-highway diesel prices rose to $3.93 last week, approaching the peak prices seen in 2008.

Have you upgraded your trucks to be more fuel efficient? If so, what have you upgraded and why? If not, do you have plans to upgrade in the future?
