Driving trucks is a demanding career that doesn’t easily lend itself to physical activity – the majority of time not loading or unloading is spent sitting behind a wheel. As a result, 70% of U.S. drivers have one or more serious medical conditions. Consider hypertension, diabetes, depression, or colon cancer.

Of course, when these conditions become severe, they take drivers away from their source of income: the open road.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Our friends at St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund understand that the health of America’s drivers is paramount to their families, communities, and the economy they keep running.

To combat this, St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund offers a handful of free health and wellness programs for drives:

  • Rigs Without Cigs – Their long-running smoking cessation program.
  • Health Habits for the Long Haul – A comprehensive 12-week course promoting health habits and lifestyle changes that fight off conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease.
  • Get Preventative Screenings (GPS) – An at-home preventive screening program for colon and prostate cancer.
  • Diabetes Prevention – In this virtual course, drivers spend 12-weeks focus on habits and lifestyle changes aimed at reducing their chance of diabetes.
  • Vaccine Voucher Program – Specifically for uninsured drivers, St. Christophers provides free vouchers for flu, shingles, and pneumonia vaccines at thousands of locations across the country.

That’s why we donate to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund.
