Potential shifts in consumer spending, plus new trends affecting the availability of truck drivers, create new wrinkles when planning for the year ahead.

The report showed contract rates rising again in November after dropping slightly in October. DAT iQ forecasts show a slower rise in contract rates for Q1, and it will likely take a few months for the markets to digest these rates.
